Different Status of a SPID in SQL Server and What do they mean

You can check the status of a SPID using any of these queries:

SELECT status,* FROM sys.sysprocesses

 SELECT status,* FROM sys.dm_exec_requests

SELECT status,* FROM sys.dm_exec_sessions

EXEC sp_who2
